In the rural village of Merkem, located between Ypres and Diksmuide, we welcome you in our home, a former rectory.

Rebuilt after the Great War and located next to the castle and the church, this rectory was many years the home of the local priest. It had a central role in the religious village life. In 2006, after 84 years, the old rectory was renovated with much love and patience. It became the new home of Els & Wim.

Every morning we serve a royal breakfast with local products.

The butter, meat and cheese come from local farms. We try, depending on the season, to grow the fruit in our own garden. The free range eggs come from our own chicken and the jam is home made using our biological grown fruit. De harvest from our orchard is processed into delicious apple juice.
Breakfast is served at one of our terraces when weather allows. In winter you can start the day by the crackling fire.
